Last Night I Dreamt a Dream
Long after times when my soul you'd keep
You rouse me from my somber sleep
You honk the horn but all of twice
and we drive into the night
up winding roads with high beams on
I wonder why this fun has gone
You have not shown me before
this wanton love that I adore
We find a meadow lit by star
and on the gravel you park the car
unroll a blanket upon the grass
and look up to me with eyes of glass
Reminisce of times you liked the best
with your head upon my chest
I feel the warth from your embrace
as you whisper with angel's grace:
"I wish no better place to be,
The stars, the grass, you and me."
one last embrace, the song of p
